Steve Cournane Heard him playing a fantastic live set on 95bFm radio in Auckland a couple of days back. Stopped me in my tracks (well, I stopped the car). Passionate, considered lyrics. Unusual guitar sounds: big distortion, but I get an almost retro 80s chorus feeling from it too. Surprising chord changes and arrangements: a lot of work has gone into this stuff. He can play and he can bloody sing too. This is a wonderful EP and he does it all himself!!?*$! Special. Favorite track: I Wait.

I Wait 03:36
I feel light in the palm of my hand And I wait for you to take it away Something small but it’s bigger and louder Than anything that you’ll ever say It’s hard to think when it keeps floating away At least now I know I won’t be clean I feel light in the palm of my hand and I wait And I wait And I wait Collecting dust in a stranger’s home Push it back so that it won’t be seen Better yet I’ll shut the door and close my eyes Until I hear you scream Hanging names upon the wall in rows Figure out their voices live in you I feel light in the palm of my hand and I wait And I wait
